Lincolnshire Regiment 1900-1918

Doug's grandfather, Arthur Roberts, was killed during the First World War while serving with the 7th Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment. Arthur Roberts had served overseas with the Regiment in the years before World War One.

Doug and his associate, Peter Mitchell, are researching the overseas service history of the  Lincolnshire Regiment (10th Foot) of the British Army prior to World War 1, in general and in particular the 7th Battalion of the Regiment during WW1. The Lincolnshire Regiment became the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment in 1947.

Peter Mitchell is also researching the diaries relating to the service during World War 1 of Lt George Spencer Compton of the 28th Battalion AIF, on his own behalf.
